CHAPTER 14 = JESUS AND POSSES 24
Life is made of exchanges, exchanges and exchanges.
"He gives himself to those who have and takes away those who do not have", from the one who is greedy and never shares the excess that, for him, is nothing, however, for others, is everything.
The young man was rich and merry, but he was not happy because he lacked something: the solidarity that pacifies the anxieties of the heart.
Perhaps he could be freed from material possessions; yet he was not accustomed to the limits of scarcity, to the balance of lack, to a less showy position, devoid of the deceptive glow of fatuity and flattery.
Giving up the treasures would be a step in the direction of self-renunciation, and this was too much for him.
Favored by abundance, he feared lack.
He renounced, then, the permanent, and was lost in emptiness.
